 Innovation Through the Years

FOBOHA began with a vision: to redefine precision and efficiency in injection molding. From its early days as a specialized mold manufacturer, the company quickly became known for innovative engineering, high-quality production, and customer-focused solutions. Today, FOBOHA continues to combine decades of expertise with forward-looking innovation, embracing automation, digitalization, and sustainable practices.

 

1975

FOBOHA’s journey began in 1975 in Haslach, Germany, with one clear vision: to design and manufacture injection molds that would set new standards in precision, efficiency, and reliability.

1980

By the early 1980s, FOBOHA was already making its mark with multi-component molds — a groundbreaking innovation at the time — enabling the production of complex parts in a single molding cycle. These early successes laid the foundation for the company’s future as a pioneer in advanced tooling technology.

Cube-Molds

1990

The 1990s saw FOBOHA expand its reach beyond Europe, supplying high-performance molds to customers in North America and Asia. This period was marked by a strong focus on process integration and the development of solutions that could significantly reduce cycle times and production costs.

2000

A major milestone came in the early 2000s with the company’s breakthrough in cube mold technology. This innovation transformed injection molding by enabling multiple processes — molding, cooling, assembly, and labeling — to occur simultaneously within a single tool. Cube molds quickly became one of FOBOHA’s signature technologies, adopted by manufacturers worldwide.

2016

In 2016, FOBOHA joined the Barnes Group, gaining access to global resources, international service networks, and expanded research and development capabilities. This partnership strengthened FOBOHA’s position as a world-class mold manufacturer with a truly global footprint.

2024

In 2024, Rainer Armbruster, one of FOBOHA’s leading visionaries, was honored with induction into the prestigious Plastics Hall of Fame. This global recognition is awarded only to individuals whose innovations have fundamentally transformed the plastics industry.

Today

Today, with over 500 rotary systems delivered, hundreds of patents, and a presence in Germany, China, and the USA, FOBOHA continues to lead the industry. Our commitment to innovation, quality, and customer-focused solutions remains at the heart of everything we do — just as it was in 1975.
